Rollin Thomas Chamberlin (1881-1948) was a professor of geology at the University of Chicago (USA), who undertook an exploratory trip through China in 1909-1910 as part of the Oriental Educational Investigation Commission. He took the trip with his son, Rollin T. Chamberlin, who was a University of Chicago professor and prominent geologist.
Today his photos collection is held at Beloit College in Wisconsin (USA). Named the « The T.C. Chamberlin Collection », it contains 726 black-and-white photos and six diaries written by Rollin Chamberlin that provide details and insights into the trip and the Chamberlins' responses to the sights and people they encountered.
