New York based visual artist Shen Wei 沈玮 was born and raised in Shanghai. Created during his travels across America, Europe and Asia, his series Between Blossoms is inspired by his “dreams of the unknown” and by the mysteries of life that have been fascinating him throughout his life.
His immersion in the landscape has led him to a quiet introspection, prompting him to rethink his conception of reality and to create photographs that “enhance the everyday with an elusive, enchanting beauty,” he says. “The choice of subjects reflects my passion for the unfamiliar and the fantastical, balanced with my preference for the natural and optimistic perspective. The blossoms in these pictures may be at the beginning or end of their life, but either way they are about the mysterious magic of life that exists in between.”
