"The best of times" was an accidental opportunity for me to pay attention to the state of my friends around me. During the filming, I took each of their attitude towards life and their own thoughts. I always felt that photography is a mirror that illuminates you and my heart. We're in the best time. I have illusions about how they've become in the picture after a few years. I'll keep shooting until I die.
Wu Liewei 邬烈威 was born in Ningbo (China) in 1993, and currently lives in Hangzhou. His projects include visual compositions/ poetry/ installation & performance art/ social programs. From the very beginning, his photographic works are cross-media and mainly related to the society and people, as well as factors between peoples. Wu used to host an organization of film photography called “film(symphony) orchestra” (in Chinese the world “film” is same pronunciation and radical as “symphony”). He is running an independent art org. named “Ratings”, and also has created a fictitious commune “Shut Down studio”. Wu has also an independent publishing project called JPEG, who was co-sponsored with ChiXi a photographer. This project took shape as a ZINE, with other occasional publications.
