Wang Shuzhou 王树洲 was born in 1951 in Huixian, Henan Province. In the 1970s, under the guidance of the photographers Zhou Zhenhua and Wang Shilong, Wang began to study photography and soon launched his photographic career. In 1985 he joined the China Photographers Association, and is now a vice president of Art Photography Society of Henan Province. Wang is well known for his photographs of rural China in the late 1970s. He notably captured various water conservancy projects, traffic construction sites and historical events that took place in his hometown Huixian.
