Wang Qiuhang 王秋杭 (born in 18 September 1949 in Rushan, Shandong province) grew in a family of high-ranking officials in the city of Hangzhou. He started to take photographs in 1968 by using a Xingfu camera, which he purchased for 5 RMB in a second-hand shop. Today he is best known for his selfies taken during the Cultural Revolution.
Until 28 February 2018, Wang is exhibiting his works in Hangzhou at N°588 Feijia Tang road. Entitled "Photo Stories of the Educated Youth, this exhibition displays two series of photographs taken from 1966 to 1976, while evoking the story of the red star team.
