Date: 23-24 June 2017
Venue: Queen’s University Belfast (Northern Ireland)
New Lenses on China: Photography in Modern Chinese History and Historiography considers the impact of photographic sources on our understanding of Chinese history. On this occasion, Queen’s University invited the founder of Photography of China - Marine Cabos-Brullé - to give a paper that examines the impact of photographs produced during campaigns of exploration in China on our understanding of Chinese cultural heritage (paper entitled: "Creating heritage: photographs of ancient sites in late imperial China").
