Derived from the observation of daily life, Tielin’s work examines the status of individual existence in contemporary China, as well as its relationship with space and memory. He produced his images by means of detached and ironic observations about common impressions in contemporary China and the common visual experience of contemporary Chinese people, situated in different sites and spaces such as city park, zoo, construction site and so on.
Born in 1996 in Chongqing, China, Ding Tielin丁铁林 is an observer and interdisciplinary artist who is currently based in New York. He studied architecture engineering from Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture for his bachelor and graduated from Parsons MFA photography in 2021. His works have been exhibited in Feldfuenf in Berlin, Germany; Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Gallery in NYC,USA; UCCA and Three Shadows in Beijing, China.
