Jiazazhi Press finally publishes its magazine, Jiazazhi Volumn.1, five years later since the trail issue! The title of this volumn is Wushu Xiuci (巫术修辞), which in English means myth rhetorical. The topic is about mythology, witchcraft, shaman and so on. Rather than presenting the othological or historical study of myth, they are focusing on the related practice in the field of Contemporary Art, especially in Southeast Asia. Jiazazhi invited critics, curators and writers to review or interview with artists working on this topic.
The artists in this issue they are: Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Yin-Ju Chen, Constantin Schlachter, Guo Fengyi, Ho Tzu Nyen, Jiang Zhi, Lu Pingyuan, Naito Masatoshi, Matthew Barney, Wang Tuo, Chen Zhe. The chef editor is Wang Huan.
There are two editions. The left one is normal edition, and the right one is special edition, which collaborates with Mountain River Jump! with their project Cards of Chinese Animal Idioms. But the only difference is the cover, as for the inside body they are totally the same. Last to be mentioned is, the text is all in Chinese. Please pay attention.
