Created in 2011 by Dr Marine Cabos-Brullé, Photography of China is a unique online hub connecting Chinese photographic circles, and bringing together alternative visions of China and its history. As an association, we facilitate the wide circulation of visual stories, provide a digital space for the study of photographic practices in China from the advent of the medium to contemporary times, while making accessible a great variety of resources to the scholarly community and the general public.
Marine is an art historian specialising in Chinese photography. She received her PhD from SOAS (London) and lectured at SOAS, the Victoria & Albert Museum, and Christie’s. She is also the founder of France China Archives, an open access scholarly database that inventories photographic archives of China located in France. She is Research Associate at the Research Center on Modern and Contemporary China (CECMC / EHESS).

Born in China and raised in France, Zack grew a particular interest for photography. He has been contributing to the development of Photography of China’s services thanks to his expertise in French and Chinese market. Zack also runs a digital agency to develop mobile and web projects.

Ling is a creative markerter with an entrepreneurial background. Specialized in digital and social media marketing, she has a track record in website and social media growth. With a great passion for photography, she pursued further studies in Photography at Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, and incorporated photography into her entrepreneurial venture. Ling is nominated for GUP New Photo Talent 2020.
